Lamine Yamal goal away to Espanyol chosen as Goal of the Season

The votes have been coming in for several days via the official FC Barcelona app and four goals had made it through to the final round to see which would be named Goal of the Season. We now have a winner, a beautiful goal that also came with plenty of significance – the finish by Lamine Yamal at the RCDE Stadium. That day the LaLiga title was confirmed mathematically and his curling shot into the top corner made the difference in what was proving to be a tough derby match against Espanyol.

The stunning nature of the goal against Joan Garcia – considered the best goalkeeper of the season in LaLiga by many – along with its significance regarding confirming the league trophy, saw it beat the other three finalists after more than 15.000 votes were cast. The Catalan forward also had another entry in the final, his right footed finish at the Bernabéu stadium, with the other two finalists coming from the Copa del Rey final – Pedri's cracker from outside the area and Jules Kounde's winner in extra time.

So the FC Barcelona fans have cast their votes in their thousands to nominate Lamine Yamal's goal in the derby as the best from the 174 scored by Hansi Flick's Barça side over the 2024/25 season.
